4 students sat in a row in class

Senior School

School life at Halliford is focused on making each and every one of our students the best version of themselves that they can possibly be. This is made possible through a breadth of opportunity and experience, excellent teaching and a strong sense of community.

A typical day in the life of a Hallifordian allows academic, pastoral, social and co-curricular activities to combine to create our strong ethos.

The School day will start with a welcome at the School gate from a member of SMT, followed by time with a tutor and often an assembly. This communal element of the day is intrinsic to what we offer here at Halliford.

Lessons are 40 minutes in length, with three in the morning before break time. Break offers the chance to be active and socialise amongst friends and to purchase an array of delicious hot and cold snacks from our impressive tuck shop.

A further two lessons run between break and lunchtime. A range of clubs and activities are on offer over the hour-long lunch break to run alongside lunch being served in the Dining Hall.

After lunch, there is further time with a tutor, followed by three lessons, making eight in total. During one afternoon per week, each year group takes Games.

At the end of the School day, many students remain until 5pm for Prep in the Learning Resource Centre, and others take the opportunity to join after-school clubs and sports training sessions.

The aim is for each student to return home each day feeling challenged, enthused and thoroughly engaged with school life.
